Pahalgam Under Attack: A Timeline of the Tragic Incident

Article by Vathada Kiran

As you have done, pack your bags for a fun trip to enjoy your time by embracing nature. As you are looking forward to the beauty until terrorists ambush you. You’re killed because you’re a Hindu, your body stripped to confirm your religion.

It isn't the first time Pakistan attacked India, as we know these are five major terror attacks that are led by Pakistan directly.1 Indian Parliament Attack(13 dec 2001)
2 Mumbai Attacks(26 nov 2008)
3 Pathankot Airbase Attack (2 Jan 2016)
4 Uri Attack(18 sept 2016)
5 Pulwama Attack(14 feb 2019)
and even more & now Pahalgam
It was 22 April 2025, around 2 o'clock in the afternoon. Many families were spending beautiful moments in the meadow of Baisaran valley, Pahalgam. There were honeymoon couples, first timers, children, grannies, and families with relatives and friends. The entire place was filled with laughter and joy, as it feels like it was the real heaven

Suddenly
All that smiles turns into tears as terrorists started brutally massacring civilians and tourists while they kept killing, even stripping the men's pants to confirm whether you are Hindu or not, and told women, "I won't kill you. Go tell your Modi. "This carnage was carried out in the absence of the indian military because Baisaran is a tourist area, not a high-security zone, so this killing spree lasted up to 2 hours

Terrorist attacks are not new for our country. We have been dealing with this for the longest time, to an extent, we were even called too much tolerant at one point, because we never knew who our Osama was. But somewhere we do know. We cannot look back to 26/11 and many other incidents, but what happened on that day, 22 April, has taken not only mine but the nation’s heart out

This attack has done a really a lot of damage to tourism in that area, and the number of people visiting has declined. However, people of Baisaran are working hard to make tourists feel safe again and show that Pahalgam is still a good place to visit.
